Not at all! Any STEM field majors will benefit from our org etc.
Absolutely! We encourage all who are interested to come check out all the great opportunities we have to offer.
You can join by coming out to our GBM’s and our socials! If you are interested in outreach or finances, please consider signing up for our Outreach or Finance committees. If you are a freshman/sophomore, we highly encourage you to sign up for our MentorSHPE program in order to get paired with an upperclassmen to guide you along your college experience. Likewise, if you are junior or above and wish to share your advice with someone younger, feel free to sign up as well. We also have project teams, intramural soccer and volleyball teams, and local outreach events at Logan Elementary.
Professional Evening with Industry is an event dedicated to Diversity. Companies are excited to work with diverse students due to the widespread knowledge that these students have to offer. It is a 3-hour event, consisting of a free dinner alongside recruiters/engineers from 18-20 different companies. The last 2 hours are geared toward further enhancing your professional skills by means of a fairly exclusive career fair.
It is an all-day event, organized by SHPE. We host about 150 middle/high school students and we bring them on campus to provide them with information about college and STEM fields. We provide workshops focused on STEM, lab tours of research facilities, and also bring in volunteers to inspire and mentor the students, answering any questions they may have along the way.

It is all about time management. You have to be your own advocate and make sure that studies come first. I had trouble with this at the beginning but realized that through SHPE I am surrounded by my friends dedicated to help me out in school. An org focused on improving my academics has definitely helped me in school.

Chapter Secretary & Project Coordinator, 2015-2016

SHPE members and the organization as a whole are dedicated toward helping you accomplish your goals. Academic goals. Professional goals. Leadership Goals. Community Goals, etc. We provide the resources needed to improve your overall professionalism by providing resume building workshops or helping you develop an elevator pitch. We also facilitate the process of networking with professionals. SHPE brings in resources to help you learn about grad school, industry, and much more during GBM’s and we create a social atmosphere in order to make you feel at home with your SHPE Familia.

It helps me accomplish my goals, of any sorts. Whether improve professionally, as a leader, or even my academics. SHPE has always provided me the support and the familia to improve.
